Baker Lake Solar Sounding

During a three-week national tour, Maritza performs a set of Mourning Dove solar synthesizers at Baker Lake, situated in Washington’s Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Power for these instruments is derived from solar panels which allow environmentally-influenced modulations. The use of solar power and shadows as performative elements enables multiple actors, human or otherwise, to impact the sound.
