Detroit is a hotspot of electronic music whose sonic ingenuity pioneered new artforms, sound culture, and movements around the world, often underpinned by the unmistakable sound of Roland drum machines and synthesizers. Through hands-on, project-based learning, students enhance their technical knowledge, understanding of local music history, and explore potential career paths with some of the city’s leading electronic music artists from Submerge and Underground Music Academy during a two-day workshop at Detroit School of Arts in May 2023.
